From The Underwear

From The Underwear

1. From The Underworld – The Herd – The first time I can remember seeing a stripper was either Rita Hayworth in “Gilda” or some women dancing along to this excellent full wall of sound symphonic pop song from the mid 1960s. Waiting for the horns – A

2. Love Sublime – Tensnake – Chuck Eddy’s fave song of the first quarter of 2014 and this disco slinker deserves the apocalyte. The guitar is Niles Rodgers – A

3. Heavy Souls Of Love – Damon Albarn – When the PR blurb states “elegant and meditative” substitute it for your Ambient – C

4. Young Blood – Bea Miller – “You were making history, breaking rules and breaking free, questioning the writing on the wall?” She kept her Junior High poems!!!

5. I Love College – Asher Roth – It still sounds really good and I wanna go to college for the rest of my life are words to live by – B+

6. Caught Out There – Kelis – Grrrrr!! – A-

7. Sticky – Teen – This is a superb little song, a wild r&b meets indie ride – A-

8. I Won – Future – I love that scratched up voice of his, autotuned growliness. West’s verse isn’t up to much – B

9. Dog In The Snow – Spider Bags – Hidden somewhere or other as a single, it is now on their compilation album. Unspeakable rock and roll genius – A
