In May 2012, Yusef Islam, the former Cat Stevens, will premiere his musical production "Moonshadow" in Melbourne Australia. Described as 'magical story of a young man and his moonshadow's struggle against the oncoming of darkness', the musical will feature Islam's music all the way back to his early Stevens career.
For those of you unfamiliar with Cat Stevens or Yusef Islam, its time to school yourself. One of the most soothing voices and most graphical lyrcists of all time.
The musical will feature classics like Father and Son, Wild World, Morning Has Broken, Peace Train and First Cut is the Deepest. I am incredibly envious of those 'down under' who will get to experience this.
Islam has faced some opposition and rough press upon his religious conversion. He had made some controversial statements and well, the USA just isnt very tolerant of anything they don't understand on a gossip page.
My hope is that this show would make it stateside, my reality knows it will not. Maybe DVD? Lets hope
