Yeezus Film, A Two-Hour Footage Collage About Kanye West's Last Tour (Watch It Here)

Don’t expect me to watch the two hours and 20 minutes of this, but I appreciate dedication when I see it! A Kanye West überfan, named John Colandra, has released and uploaded on YouTube a 2-hour film documenting the famous Yeezus tour, using professional and fan footage.

According to Variance Magazine, Hype Williams let previously fans believe that he would release an official ‘West-sanctioned tour film’ using footage taken during the tour, but this was announced in February and nothing has surfaced since. I guess, Colandra got impatient and did it himself, spending months creating his own movie, even including footage of Kendrick Lamar, the opener for Kanye.

Simply called, ‘Yeezus Film’, the guy managed to make a real movie, ‘Compiling footage from almost every stop on the Yeezus tour to make one cohesive film. Using professional and gorilla style footage. The film flows beautifully and not a single major aspect of the Yeezus tour goes unnoticed. Detail was crucial and over seven months of work went into this project’, he added into the description on Youtube

So if you are like me and have never attended a Yeezus concert, the film can give you a good idea of the grandiosity of the spectacle, it was a Kanye feast, a complete Yeezus celebration, as he is always alone on stage (or almost), hidden behind his sparkling mask, standing on his triangle, pyramid, mountain, iceberg or whatever this thing is, haranguing the crowd a lot, screaming to your face a lot, sampling songs a lot. I know I am no Kanye lover, but the least I can say is that this is not a humble spectacle. Then there’s a volcano, a religious procession coming out a cracking mountain, and it totally turns god-freak fantasy and please, stop with the requiem of Mozart, he would have not approved, and this reminds me how much I hate, hate auto tuned voices! But if you want to see Jesus, the real one, skip to 1:49, don’t miss it, that’s the only time you’ll see Kanye kneel down in front of someone.

After this, I had enough of it, but you can watch Yeezus the movie below, if you feel like it. It is expected to be released for download on December 9th!
