Wynton Marsalis, Named CBS Cultural Correspondent

Wynton Marsalis is the man with the brass.  A world class educator and composer who has been artistic director of jazz for Lincoln Center since 1987.  Marsalis has also had the distinction of winning 9 Grammy awards.

He was recently named the Cultural Correspondent for CBS News.  Wynton has been associated with CBS for a number of years and has appeared on “60 Minutes” and that blast of trumpet you hear every Sunday Morning that opens CBS’s human interest program “Sunday Morning’ is in fact Wynton Marsalis himself. 

The network announced that he will be reporting on a wide range of cultural and educational developments .  His first appearance in this new role will be January 16th in observation of Martin LutherKing Jr’s birthday
