Everybody knew two nights at MHOW and Bowery Ballroom would be ins tantaneous sellouts for Fiona Apple. Hell, she coulda filled two nights at the Beacon no problem. And except for the Brooklynvegan presale, not a one in sight. Which was weird because I thought AMEX had a deal with Bowery Presents but apparently not all the time. I typed in the wrong precode for MHOW and by the time I righted it, the pesale was sold out.
So I went on Stubhub and MHOW was moving for $112. More than double but not terrible.And I nearly bought one but the tix hadn't gotten on sale yet so I figured, hey I'd wait it out.
Ha!
I had a better chance of a getting a ticket to Kraftwek, whose Museum Of Modern Art concerts had 1.5 tickets available for every 100 callers. Or, in plain English, you had about as good a chance of spending the night with Scarlett Johanssen as Foona Apple
So with the onsale offsale I went back to Stubhub and tix were up to $170. And as I write this they're at $200.
The moral. If tickets to Fiona Apple at MHOW are on sale for $112… buy em. AND if Scarlett Johanssen invites you into bed, say yes.
