Who Will Be The Third Night Governor's Island Headliner? Our Bet Is Blur…

Well, well, well, the Governor's Island Fest have sure given Coachella a run for its money in 2013. By anybody's standard headliners Kanye West and Kings Of Leon are the equals of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Wu Tang Clan, if not, indeed, the better.

Yup, if I was a Coachella fan who bought a tix before the line up was announced, I'd feel shafted. Indeed, both festivals are missing the right over the top act. The Rolling Stones might have done it for Coachella but nope, they are not there. And there doesn't appear to be a substitute available. Actually, I can't seem to think of a band to substitute for them at the big C. Madonna? Gaga? Both?

Whatever, Coachella short shirted their fans this year.

Whereas who expected such a huge line up from CB? This is a giant line up from the alt dance/indie 2012 line up. Beck and Passion Pit and Fiona is all well and good but it isn't the unstoppable 2013 line up. And what about the third act? Our bet is it is a big name playing at Coachella and they are holding off announcing it for contract reasons. Our bet is Blur.

Blur was always an East Coast type band anyway, they always played nyc even when they weren't playing the rest of the country and they haven't played us since they reformed. We have it coming. Also, they would be a bigger add to the Gov's Ball than they would to Coachella and would be icing on the cake. It might be the Stone Roses, and I would be fine with either band. I would really love to see the Stone Roses , who I've never seen live.

But I think it is Blur!
