We've got Coldplay Back! But For How Long? Chris Martin Hints At Break Up After Album # 7 "A Head Full Of Dreams"

Are Coldplay breaking up after their next album, A Head Full Of Dreams? I feel like I’m at some sort of addicts meeting coming to terms with a serious problem but here goes: I quite liked this year’s Ghost Stories. If it had been better lyrically, the introspective uncoupling album is probably my fave  album as such, sure there is no “Hurts Like Heaven” but it maintains its itself, it has a bleak vision and it never waivers. Live, they are perfect for 45 minutes of hits, less so for two hours and between the two I’ve begun to begin to forgive em for, well being Coldplay.

So , speaking with BBC Radio 2 DJ Jo Wiley, he claims a new album is in the works for 2015 and hints it may be the end of the road for Coldplay, a sort of 7 and out plan, according to Gigwise:

“You know Harry Potter and things have instalments, and you know we just made an introspective record and didn’t really do much around it,secretly we may have something else in mind, but I accidentally told Zane [Lowe] about it. We’re trying to make something colourful and uplifting and we’re just having quite a good time making it because we’ve spent so long not making that kind of thing.”

Chris: “We know what the name of it is and that’s about it, and some of the songs.”

Drummer Will Champion: “We’ve got a big year planned next year in terms of recording, it’s all mapped out.”

So a bombastic album is in the works and surprisingly Coldplay didn’t really tour behind Ghost Stories. I passed on the Beacon Theatre gig because1. I am not a big fan of the band and live I just knew what we were getting

but also

2. I assumed there was a big gig coming up which didn’t materialize.

Personally, I doubt there is a chance in hell of the band disbanding: they have nothing else. Plus Martin talks a lot of smack… still there is always the Paltrow break up so maybe…
