You may remember David Miller for his award winning short movie “Lavinia’s Revenge”, a bloody minded color coordinated story of red, rape and revenge, we wrote about here. Still at college, Miller took place in a competition where he was given a camera and a week to make a short film. The person with the most views gets it sent to Hollywood!
David responded by adding some movie magic to a pointed, albeit amusing critique of ego and awards and, er, superego (maybe?), “The Solipsist Awards” written, directed and won by by… Miller is studying at Wesleyan University -a great looking Campus but his powers in film seems to leave him with Hollywood in his sights.
“The Solipsist Awards” is so pointed it almost mocks its very reason for being and so accurate somebody should show it to the E Street Band. Awards are gratifying but there are too many of them. They are a barrage of feelgood.
And all award speeches sound about the same whatever the awards is for.
Except for this one.
