Spielman’s acrobatics

Trash Talk has a new album, ‘No Peace’ out today, and I am streaming the 14 tracks of it right now on Spotify. I don’t remember being more scared at a show than at a Trash Talk gig,… trying to survive in the pit was honestly suicidal as I couldn’t process what was happening fast enough. Plus I am pretty sure I don’t have the appropriate age, size, agility, gender for any of this! Also, I should simply give up on trying to capture Lee Spielman’s acrobatics on film because it is simply impossible. The band is damn good and totally dangerous, installing terror in the apocalyptic sense of the term. Forget Godzilla or whatever horror movie you are currently into, go to a Trash Talk show, get close to the stage and tell me later you didn’t pee in your pants and see your last hour arrived in the form of a voluminous body landing on your head.

Anyway the album sounds like Trash Talk, menacing with raucous and furious vocals, high-energy riffs, tempestuous drumming, hardcore skate punk violence, and a transcending rage running along your spine… it delivers if you are into this genre, and my cat seems to like it, at least he didn’t run away when I started it, despite his head being close to the speakers,…In any case, Spielman moves and bounces like a panther during live shows and one of the new songs is called ‘Nine Lives’! Coincidence?

They have just released a video for another song, ‘The Hole’, and it can give you a good idea of what is actually happening live: they simply raise hell and its wild fires, but with a lot of weed should I add? The images are creepy and may even make you feel uneasy… hey it’s all an act, I promise, plus is that Tyler the Creator at 0:42? I guess since ‘No Peace’ is released via Odd Future Records.

On Twitter, they were inviting everyone to a BBQ tonight, I couldn’t go but this is nice! And there is something even nicer: what about a free tour alongside Left Brain across North America? Yep! 17 dates totally free, you just have to make a reservation for the city of your choice here! I am on a waiting list for Los Angeles, meaning I have very little chance to get in…
