Are you as eager to hear the new Titus Andronicus as I am? I loved the first single “Dimed Out” and this could actually be better, the dueling guitars are riveting and thrilling at the punch line a real beauty, “let me show you my fatal flaw, it’s the best thing you ever saw” Patrick Stickles sings on the sort of messed up come on that greats seem to drop effortlessly, “waiting on some drug deal all day…” he claims.
God knows what is going on here, apparently it is part of a larger story in the world tragedy that is Titus Andronicus Of course, when you think Shakespearean tragic heroes like Stickles fatal flaws are more common than in Greek tragedies, you know Achilles ain’t Patrick, he is somewhere between King Lear and Hamlet. Trusting and uncertainty! Or Titus… well, maybe not Titus who murdered his daughter after she was raped. A fatal flaw if ever there was one.
meanwhile, Patrick goes from strength to strength and I have a feeling, based solely upon these two killer songs, that this will be a biggie for the band.
This is a great song which would give the band two great numbers and 27 more to go…
