This whole 'play an album' concept is one of the most lazy ass things I have ever heard. The trend is mounting too. Rather than throw down a nice hodge podge for your work just put the bitch on auto piliot and sail through. This idea, though interesting has got to be squashed.
Old timers Yes are taking it to the next level by playing not one BUT THREE. They’ll play 1971′s The Yes Album, 1972′s Close To The Edge and 1977′s Going For The One and none of you will be happy about it. None of us like every tune on an album and by even playing the 'dogs', you basically are filling space. Three hour shows filled with Yes. Is that legal?
Bassist Chris Squire says: “I believe the only song we’ve not performed in concert is A Venture from The Yes Album. Probably the most tricky of all the songs is Turn Of The Century from Going For The One.
“I think the 12-inch album is alive and well, as reinforced by the rising interest in the analogue format.”
Guitarist Steve Howe adds: “It has never totally gone away – there are those who completely understand. These albums, we all easily agreed on. They are complete works in themselves.”
Well then, the venues are comfy and I suggest a sweater, although a spring tour, since they make great pillows.
