Lady Gaga number 1 spot in Forbes magazine Celebrity Power List

Lady Gaga has reached the number 1 spot in Forbes magazine annual celebrity 100 list! Gaga is all powerful, beating Oprah in her usual number 1 spot, a position she is giving up for only the third time in 7 years.

How is this possible? Gaga is rich, very rich, she earned $90 million with her monster tour but Oprah made $290 million last year which is not a small amount. So?

Well, social media are now keys to determine someone’s stardom status. Gaga got 32 million people to follow her on facebook and 10 million on Twitter… I wonder how many are gay.
Oprah? I checked, she only gets 5.7 million on facebook and 5.9 million on twitter, this is ridiculous.

To this we can add Gaga’s one million digital downloads of her recent single ‘Born this Way’, and all the shit featured in her videos, that she is selling, she surely knows about product placement and marketing.

Well, Oprah has still the comfortable position of number 2 in the Forbes list, and should be back to number 1 next year.
