Death: Remember Sha Na Na? Sure you do, the old school rock and roll cover band who gave a spark of continuity to the Woodstock generation back in 1968. Dennis Greene was the black guy and a real talent, who appeared with the band in both Grease and Happy Days, before turning his back on the biz and becoming a Professor of Law (Harvard Grad, no less). Sadly he died earlier this week at the age of 66.
Live: I am considering Death Cab For Cuties on Saturday at MSG, and I still might, but isn’t the opening act something like the Vice President nominee in a political race? Isn’t it meant to bring in some more votes? Then why the hell are we stuck with Explosions In The Sky???
Recorded: Usually a Thursday is the time to call out with the old and in with the new for new releases. There should be nothing eft. But this week has proven quite healthy and we are still drinking the last drops of Travis Scott’s blood before the clock turns .
Sports: The Mets magic number is 17 so stick a fork in the National League East, they’ve got it. Meanwhile, the Yanks versus Toronto this weekend? If the Yanks can sweep em they could take the division back. And for a band as streaky as the Yanks, losing two in a row is not necessarily a bad thing.
