Sports: Enough of the damn rebuilding with the Knicks, Patrick Ewing left the Knicks in 2000 and these guys are still rebuilding. After their worst season, how about a win now strategy? The Knicks aren’t rebuilding, they are a bad organization who can turn any one into losers with a toxic culture. Fourth round pick, Latvian 19-year-old, 7-foot-1 project, center forward Kristaps Porzingis will be ready (maybe in three or four years). I don’t trust the Knicks one iota and I don’t wanna wait any more.
News: “Richard Matt was fatally shot by an agent from Vermont. Officers were trucking in floodlights to where David Sweat was believed to be hiding, not far from where Matt was killed.” I know this isn’t Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid or “The Shawshank Redemption” but part of me wishes they’d made it. Extreme ingenuity deserves some form of reward, you’d think. If the prison guard hadn’t lost her name (and saved her life) they might well have.
Recorded: All Maxi Priest all the time as the great UK reggae star performs at Summerstage this afternoon. Plus a little Moz thrown in for taste.
Live: Speaking of Moz , a nonstop concert day (unless the weather derails it), first the largest Reggae indie in the world, VP Records celebrate their 35th Anniversary at Summerstage, and then Blondie and Morrissey at MSG. It is a great world. Incidentally, I can’t make it but Tomas Doncker is playing South by South Orange this evening.
