The Who and Elvis Costello Rock Against Cancer

February 28th will be the final stop of this latest tour by The Who and showing what upright guys they are- this one is for charity.

The band will earmark proceeds from this show Teen Cancer America and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The band will put  aside its current set list of the entire soundtrack of Quadrophenia and replace it with an array of Who tunes you wished you had heard at their previous shows.

Instead of booking the Madison Square Garden Arena, The Who has chosen the adjoining (and more intimate) Theatre at Madison Square Garden.  Special guest will be Elvis Costello and The Imposters and can someone tell me WHEN EC doesn't show up?  If a band plays New York City and doesn't have security there will be Elvis lobbing in for some stage time.  Yet he hasn't played my area in years..thanks loser.

Ticketmaster is even waiving the service fees for the VIP package, how generous…Wouldn't it make more sense to donate the service charges from all tickets to the cause?  Actually don't even get me started on ticket fees.  Its ridiculous that now even buying from a venue box office can have a facility fee.  Its an unfair mob ruled scam.

I suppose more 'guests' will be announced, just slapping Costello on seems rather odd so stay tuned.  Tickets are on sale now and could well be sold out by now.  Try just the same.
