Remember last year when Sinead laid into egotistical rock stars on "V.I.P." putting them in their place with a vicious swipe then expressing the true values that make a person, and a god, important. Many of us thought, actually I think Sinead mentioned, that Bono was the object of her scorn.
So more power to her right? I mean, isn't Sinead the anti-Bono anywhere? Everything that Bono slathers in Irish blarney and ego, Sinead sticks it to in god and craziness. Two head cases forever connected in that far away land known as the 1980s.
So here is Sinead in the current Uncut: "For the representatives of Jesus Christ to stand up and say lies in the presence of the Holy Spirit, lies about the rape of small boys and girls, is a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which is unforgivable.I get sick of all these rock stars – like Bono – thanking God for their Grammys, but when there's a pitched battle for the honour of God, there's tumbleweed."
Bono is all about having it both, life everlasting is a photo-op to him and the stench of not hypocrisy but a sort of unawareness seems to be a part of the very fabric of his being: it is a type of ego enhanced self-hypnosis where he can't seem to see the difference between his actions and his words: there is a disconnect. At heart, Bono is a big fat dick just because he is a big fat hypocrite and doesn't seem to know how well we can see the distance between what he is and what he claims to be.
Bono doesn't condemn the Pope because he knows the Pope. he is pals with the Pope. And Sinead can't find the next target of her bile, everything feels wrong and strange, it is like she has taken one hit over the line and is having a paranoid meltdown.
