I would get these guys confused with The Hives.. The Vines, The Hives the what? Just goes to show you how easily Im confused since theyre nothing alike at all.
The Vines were the cool ones, from down under no less. They had a moderate hit with "Get Out"
But they have a fun retro inspired sound that never came across to 'Starbucksy' indie. The vocals were always really clean and the distortion of music made it more psychedelic and poppy. Its been a long time too 2008 was their last hurrah "Melodia".
But the wait is nearly over. "Future Primative" Heres what to expect according to Craig Nicholls:
"There are a few three and a half minute songs but more of them are around two minutes," he told Australian radio station Triple J. "I just like the early singles in the '60s, how they seemed to be very short.
Cool! cuz I get bored really easy. June seems far away now. I suggest we all take this time to check out their back catalog. Hard to believe these cats have beeen around since 1994.
