The Sounds are a pop band that have pop potential. The song "Dance With The Devil" could easily be on Top 40 radio no doubt about it. There is nothing 'finge' or 'alt' or 'indie' about it. Its simply dancy pop for the masses.
I have nothing against this type of music its not my cuppa but who cares. To each their own. What I find most interesting is this video which was featured on Alternative Press. There is nothing alternative about The Sounds.
Visually this video is a comedy. The dancers dance bad the 'story line' is weak and lead singer Maja Ivarsson looks just like a meth addict. Sexy? No. Deathcamp chic is so 80s.
She has a pretty voice but that's about all. What is she 50 years old? They should scrap this video and rethink the concept. Market it to 13 year old girls that's their niche with this sound.
This video sucks. Proof that pop + conceptual = crap.
