The Only Coachella Review You Need Ever Read

From the better never than let department, I was killing time Saturday afternoon, between writing and sleeping, and generally gravitating, when I figured I’d stream me some Coachella and the first thing I noticed was: a lot more people were catching Action Bronson than I imagined and also, despite a ragging from me for his Best Buy appearance last year, Bronson was actually pretty darn good. A killer version of “Easy Rider” was quite the surprise as was his (relatively speaking, he’s a big lad), the athleticism with which he jumped off the audience to mix and match with the audience. The man has presence to burn, as well as calories.

Perfume Genius, in heels and stockings, looked like Dr. Frank N Furter after shock treatment, caked in makeup, part death head, part MC at the Kit Kat Club, and all singer songwriter in the rubble of his psyche, he pranced, danced and took over.

Tyler, The Creator, was his usual wiseass self, dissing the folks in the VIP section (easy to do when you’re hanging out backstage all night) and acting the clown, stretching his persona a little, at least I that he isn’t quite the teenage brat anymore. What a difference a year makes, right?

Otherwise, I saw a little of Jack White, who I am pretty much sick of by now (though I read where he is hanging up his touring shoes for a long time soon) and a little of someone else but I can’t remember who.

So there’s your live from Coachella review. No, don’t thank me…
