Why hasn't the US fallen in love with The Maccabees yet? They greatly surpass our gruff hipsters in intelligence and unique sound. A hypnotic hippy swirl of Brit-dom, that you would expect the kids on the quad to raise to God like status.
Perhaps we are all to buried in BONE EEVAIR (Bon Iver) and the horrible Black Keys to identify worthy music. Step in with the video for "Feel To Follow" an ultra Euro weird jaunt into floating imagery that suits the tune to a T.
The vocals on this are quite haunting though and fit up with the yellow filtered visuals quite well. I don't like videos that leave me with a 'WTF' feeling. Its music, I should be more focused on sound than vision. This is where the video can be a help or hindrance. If it is a fine accompaniment to sound- all the better. When it overshadows the song with art school imagery, well, that's counter productive.
There are a few videos for this tune. I have chosen this one since it seems to be the most 'WTF' of them all. The visual aside, the song reminds me of Ultravox (look them up kids) an image painting sound leaving you just slightly off balance. This video wasn't needed but maybe it will draw some of you away from the current North American hipster crap you've been consuming.
