The FYF Fest Announces Its Excellent Line-Up!

The FYF Fest, which will be back in August this year, has just announced its line-up,… and what a line-up! Just look above, I think it may beat Coachella! Yeah Yeah Yeahs and My Bloody Valentine are the two big headliners, but TV on the Radio, (Black) Flag (a Black Flag reunion with Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Dez Cadena, Billy and Stephen,… still no Henry Rollins!), Deerhunter, Devendra Banhart, The Breeders (which will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Last Splash’ by performing the album), MGMT, Beach House, Beyonce’s little sister Solange, Yo La Tengo, Washed Out, Holy Ghost!, The Melvins and many, many other bands will also perform during the two-day festival.

Among the bands I have already seen perform but wouldn’t mind see one more time, garage-surf rock’ n’ roll saviors and 60s revivalists Ty Segall, The Orwells, and Thee Oh Sees, the always surprising Les Sav Fav, the almightly METZ, fuzziness masters Kurt Vile and the violators,  plus I have heard so much about Charles Bradley and his extraordinaires, Death Grips, Omar Souleyman, Dan Deacon, Joyce Manor, Foxygen, Touche Amore… I am gonna be super busy for two days once again! On Monday morning, there even was a rumor about Beck joining the fest? It was just a rumor, but who knows…. As a surprise guest during Devandra Banhart or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ set may be?

The FYF Fest is a little bit earlier this year, on August 24th and 25th at L.A. State Historic Park, and ticket prices are a little up, $99 plus fees for a weekend pass – last year it was only $77 – and $65 for a single-day ticket. They go on sale at noon on Thursday, and it’s still a super deal when you think about this $600 Rolling Stones tickets!
