the Eagle Rock music festival

Eagle Rock, a neighborhood at the northeast of Los Angeles, has its music festival too, and it’s coming soon: it will happen on Saturday October 1st from 4 to 11 pm.

Co-produced by Center for the Arts Eagle Rock and the office of LA City Councilman José Huizar, the festival is in its 13th year, and for only $5 (the entry price that used to be that of the Sunset Junction Fair years and years ago), you will see lots of bands (more than 65) on 11 stages curated by Dublab, FYF Fest (again!), Low End Theory (the club Thom Yorke crashes sometimes), Kingsize Soundlabs, the Ship Studios, LA Record, KOXY Radio, Zocalor and Razorcake.

The hightlights? For you laptop and electronic music lovers, Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing and Gaslamp Killer will probably be some must sees, but the Allah Las are also playing and they are quite good, just like Shadow Shadow Shade and their bombastic operatic anthems, and I would also want to catch Rooney that I have never had the chance to see. But there are acts for every taste as the family stage has a Neil Diamond Tribute Band!
