The Best Of Kanye West’s Style Magazine Interview

Fashion Kanye

Style magazine has a very long Kanye West interview, because you know, Kanye thinks he can save the world with fashion, and as usual, his disorganized rants do not make any sense to me… but the interview is relatively long, so I will save you some time, and you will just have to read the best quotes, which are unintentionally hilarious as always:

‘I wouldn’t consider myself to be a designer in that way, I just want to propose a solution to problems that me and my wife and my friends face’… Like rich black men’s problems?

‘Even with the way we took Adidas socks and turned them into sports bras. It’s like, “What is almost like Alaïa that you can sweat in?” A sock! And it had to only be the sports bra because it looked really funny once [it] started going into the biking shorts. I tried that and that didn’t come out so well.’ What?

‘I’m biased, but I think the best red-carpet look of all time—if not, one of the top five—was my wife’s look at the Grammys.’ Seriously, did you have a good look at this hideous bathrobe?

‘It’s up to people to be oil or water. If you’re water, your life’s already over. If you’re oil, like the age of the kids that were standing there, you’ll probably be sparked and do something really dynamic in life.’ Errr?

‘You know, it’s like voting. Fashion is merely an opinion. And I’ve got a lot of opinions.’ Ha! I knew that but voting is not an opinion? It is either very stupid or very deep.

‘One of my dreams was to be the head creative director of the Gap. I’d like to be the Steve Jobs of the Gap.’ Some ambitious thought there, although the Gap? Really Kanye? That generic, right-in-the-middle-of-the-road brand?

I know what you are gonna say, these sentences are taken out of context, but really, does the context matter with Kanye? Not. A. bit.
