So what do we think about this the? I think I see no reason to get to Randall’s Island early on Friday and Sunday, though on the inbetweener Saturday’s Kate Tempest is unmissable. Friday starts kicking good with the teen hip hop sensations Rae Sremmurd, and at the other end of friday, it is a toss up between Drake and Florence. I’d start with Florence and if she sucks (as she did at Radio City) finish at Drake. friday has the best line up: Twin Shadow, Rudimental, Charli XCX, through to St. Vincent and My Morning Jacet, it is very very strong.
Saturday is a disappoitment. I am going to seeBjork in march and I dislike Deadmau5 so the headliners are nothing much, besides the early Tempest, the only other must see for me is Clean Bandit. This is their worst day in years.
Sunday has a similar problem. The Black Keys or Lana Del Rey? I’d go with Vaessa Del Rey myself. Weird Al I saw a coupla years ago and he was a little Off Broadway for the price, Some good EDM, A-Trak, Flying Lotus, Hot Chip. And this is an easy way to catch both Sturgill Simpson and the War On Drugs.
What stands out here is what stood out before: the lack of the slamdunk. No one day blows your mind. Saturday is a dog, Friday is the best, and Suday? Do you really wanna hang around to catch the Black Keys… I dunno…
