The Allman Brothers To End Their Career At The Beacon In October

This is the end

This is the end

Wanna talk about a hot ticket? Tuesday, October 28 th, 2014 will be the very last Allman brothers concert ever and it will be at the Beacon Theatre run and it will give March madness whole new vistas of meaning.

I went to see the Allmans in March but Gregg was out with bronchitis and while I thoroughly enjoyed the Warren and Derek show, it was hardly the way for the Allman brothers to call it a career and the remaining four dates were cancelled and they promised to reschedule . The first four dates are sold out of course but the final two should also be legendary. The Allmans are still great, in some ways greater, than ever. And here is a musical question: will Dickey Betts be there???

It isn’t every day you get to experience something like that but kudos to the greatest Southern jam band of them all for completing their life together in the place they enjoyed so many triumphs.

I am hoping for am AMEX presale and even with one, it will be a very tough ticket…
