They sound soulful, they look glam, they are intensely talented and cool and they are playing”Acoustic Anarchy” -a night of acoustic versions of New York Dolls and Sex Pistols classics, I mean of course the very very wonderful Alexandra & The Starlight Band, headlining what should be a treat of an evening as part of the CBGB’s Festival.
Even more exciting for rock nyc, we, along with Manic Panic, will be the strategic promo partners for the show. rock nyc hasn’t really been involved in promoting shows since the Muse And Music series back in 2011 so we are really excited to be a part of this evening.
Other performers include personal faves Viv And the Revivals whose EP The Introduction from earlier this year was a classicist sense of rock and sock it to em.
I would love to have a say as to what everybody sings, it would be easy, “Holidays In The Sun” over and over and over again till the audience attacked the bands and there was anarchy in the cake Shop… well, that ain’t happening so… Speaking of which, I covered the CBGB’S fest last year and it really is a blast (I caught the terrific Del Lords -maybe my best show of the Fest) but it coincided with CMJ. Luckily that isn’t the case this year.
Anyway, more info as we get closer but meanwhile, if you have Spotify here is an Alexander & The Spotlight EP from 2012
