Live: Tickets went on sale for Governors Ball 2015, $615 for three days VIP pass on early sale from June 5th to June 8th and worth every penny. I spent the last half of 2014 using the festival as a reference for band after band after band I wrote about since June. It is not merely an easy commute to the city but of equal importance there is no camping. Finally, because it is VIP you are guaranteed an excellent view for most of the shows. As long as it doesn’t rain… I think they should hold till July despite 2014’s wonder.
Recorded: As controversy raged, at rock nyc as well, as to whether to stream or not to stream, Marianne Faithfull was the album of the week though she failed to sustain my interest, meanwhile the New Basement tapes band wasn’t as terrible as I feared though Foo Fighters was worse. best of all was the EP by Michigan’s own Borns and the return of the Pagans with Hollywood High.
Sports: Not untypically, the Knicks are free falling, the Jets only win when it hurts their first pick and the Giants suck.
Weather: Here comes winter.
Politics: Here comes the GOP. The GOP were like a baseball team after rebuilding, everybody was younger, fresher and more vicious than either before whereas the Dems? In retrospect, if the Dems had stuck by the Prez they’d have done a lot better… your record is your record, live or die with it.
