Week 51:

Live – A quiet week with Christmas right smack in the middle but let’s hand it to Darlene Love who completed a 28 year run on Letterman with three performances at Bb King. I caught the middle one and it isn’t enough to say well done good performances by a 73 year old woman, a 24 year old woman would have been equally impressive. The best? The Marvin Gaye medley

Recorded; Such an astoundingly quiet time of year. It is good in one sense of the wordm time to reflect on the year, bad in another, fuck reflection. I guess Madonna and d’Angelo are still the names on the tip of your tongue.

Sports: I went to see the Knicks on Christmas day: they weren’t in the lead for one second, by the second position but they were down by 2 and they never looked up. I didn’t pay for the tix (got it from my job) BUT IF I HAD… Giants are done the Jets and Rex are done and the Knicks are 5 – 27.

New York Politics – When 23,000 cops turn their backs on you, you sure look like a one term mayor to me.

World Politics: 13 years and 2200 deaths later, the US leaves Afghanistan exactly the way they found it.

Weather: May I recommend the Dark Sky app -$3.99 but pretty damn great at progenitating the weather.

Movies: “The Interviewer”? Never before has so much been written about so little.

More movies: “Into The Woods” is very impressive.
