Debbie Harry joins X for “Breathless”

Recorded – No, nobody will be discussing where they were the first time they heard Sammy Hagar’s And Friends or Nelly’s M.O., but for what it is worth, there is nothing much better in life than a product that is what it advertises itself to be, and both of these albums, a heavy metal knees up and a pop friendly r&b album, provide precisely the thing they advertise and very well at that.

Live – Exene Cervanka won the battle of the post-punk divas in a showdown with Debbie Harry. Again, X did what they were meant to do. Maybe that’s all they did, perform ace West Coast early 1980s punk for an hour at Roseland, but they did that and that was exactly what we paid to have them do.

National – The Government are having a battle royal of hard knuckled real politick over Obamacare. The Republicans won’t sign a new budget without concessions on Obamacare and the Democrats won’t compromise. Meanwhile, neither the Senate nor the Congress have to use Obamacare.

Local: This is what I hate about the MTA, despite a windfall of a couple of billion they still plan to raise the fare in case it doesn’t last. So let’s see: if they don’t have money, they raise the fare because they are bankrupt and if they do have money they raise the fare in case they stop getting money and go bankrupt.

Sports: With the Yanks and the Mets out of the playoffs, the Jets and the Giants on the road to oblivion and Hockey not yet kicked in, we looked to the Tampa Rays to beat out the Red Sox and are current down 0 – 2 in the ALDS

Thanks folks, see you next week.
