Elliott Smith’s birthday is on August 6th, and Gil Reyes has scheduled another screening for his documentary ‘Searching for Elliott Smith’ on August 5th in Los Angeles.
I am not going to say this is one more time an opportunistic move for Gil Reyes, because I would repeat myself!
What better way to celebrate Elliott’s birthday than to hear one more time he killed himself because he had always wanted to die? What better way indeed than to listen to Robin Peringer saying the supposedly defensive cuts were self-inflicted or to Steve Hanft telling us Elliott was wearing these leather wristbands because he was hiding some cuts under them? A collection of lies (and I have already discussed this at length!) as the ultimate birthday present.
Gil Reyes has found a way to make sure he totally owns Elliott’s afterlife,… and it’s weird to celebrate someone’s birthday after his death anyway.
If there is another of these Q&As with Jennifer Chiba, I could ask her another question,… never mind, she would lie again anyway.
The screening is Friday, August 5th at the Bootleg Theater and will cost you $10
