Sneak Peaks: New Album Releases Week Of May 18th, 2015

By Iman Lababedi | May 16, 2015

The Milk Carton Kids newbie is a drag as far as this philistine can tell, twenty one pilots is good not great, same goes for Joanna Gruesome’s big time sophomore effort. Ceremony? I’m a non believer. Jamie Foxx always sucks. Tanlines, Hot Chip, Total Babes -they could all go either way. That leaves it between the excellent Jim O’Rourke and the bad ass Thee Oh Sees. I’m going with Thee Oh Sees, in difference to my buddy Mike Long’s opinion

Burgerama 4, Day Two

By Alyson Camus | April 2, 2015

For the second day at Burgerama, I adopted a slightly different strategy, instead of trying to see as many bands as possible, I tried to see less of them but more of each act. Thee Oh Sees were about to start their set when I arrived and after one song John Dwyer and his band…

My Best Of Burgerama 4

By Alyson Camus | April 1, 2015

The nice people at Burgerama gave me a photo pass so I had access to the photo pit, which is certainly a delight but also a terrible temptation to take as many pictures as possible… This is just what I did, and I ended up with hundreds of photos to sort out today! The pictures reflect the best moments of these two days

Listen To Thee Oh Sees’ New Song, ‘Web’

By Alyson Camus | March 10, 2015

I feel I have a special connection with John Dwyer, not because I know him but because I regularly see him running around the lake in Silverlake! He is a runner and I once tried to scream at him ‘I love your music’, he gave me a thumb up although I am not sure he heard what I said

Lolipalooza At The Echo/Echoplex, Saturday June 28th 2014 (Part II)

By Alyson Camus | July 1, 2014

I must say that the Echo/Echoplex is probably my favorite place in LA for many reasons (beside the awesome shows they host), the managers are so cool with any crowd antics, they let people climb on the booth seats when they can’t see the stage, they let people stage diving and crowd surfing their heart out, and nobody felt restrained to do so on Saturday night.

Thee Oh Sees Are On Hiatus, But Rejoice, John Dwyer Is Moving To Los Angeles!

By Alyson Camus | December 21, 2013

Thee Oh Sees are taking an indefinite hiatus! That’s so sad because they are an unique band with an extraordinary energy, and their stoner-garage-punk-surf-psychedelic rock combines everything you want to hear and see at a live rock show. Frontman John Dwyer announced the news, this week, during a show at the Great American Music Hall.
