Pandora: have bought “some assets” from RDIO, otherwise known as the first to die, on top of purchasing “Ticketfly” earlier this year. And they are still losing money, the price of stock has declined by 37% since mid-October
ever the bridesmaid Pandora have finally made a move and have made Andrew Dreskin $450 Million dollars richer, it seems to me to be the definition of a non event. Ticketfly have never come close to rivaling Ticketmaster and unless they get some major players to spend the night with em, they never will.
It really is tough trying to figure out where to find new music but for all of youtube’s ability to make personal listening playlists, I don’t see how it works as a place to discover music. It seems more like a place to stream music once you have already discovered it.
Pandora and ITunes are strictly radio and their free versions both carry some heavy advertising. Pandora’s ads are so loud that you can literally be startled. ITunes radio isn’t so bad but its bland and monotone
