“I’ve never seen a skateboarder even in the streets in the entire world try and do something and not fall off.”
‘If someone wants to know what I think of Adele, I’ll fucking tell them… I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. I don’t like her music. I think it’s music for fucking grannies.’
Noel Gallagher on vinyl: ‘But it’s the streaming thing, there will be no record sales by the end of the decade, I think.’
Ellie Goulding is a ‘fucking dick’? Really Noel Gallagher? The problem is that Ellie just talked to the Sun and she told them that you were a fan:
‘Noel came up to me at the Brit Awards two years ago and said, ‘I love your music — but don’t fucking tell anyone’, she declared! Obviously telling everyone would ruin his joke and his game.
‘Does anybody give a fuck about what any of these current pop stars are up to? Who gives a shit what fucking One Direction do? Cocksuckers, all of them in rehab by the time they’re 30. Who gives a shit what Ellie Goulding is up to? Really? Adele, what? Blows my fucking mind. It blows my fucking mind. Nobody cares! Fame’s wasted on them, with their fucking in-ear monitors and their electronic cigarettes. And their fragrances that they’re bringing out for Christmas. You fucking dicks.’
‘With the chemistry going on, that’s just a magical moment. With a DJ or the EDM thing, they don’t get it. It’s a completely different thing – the youth is always supposed to piss off the elders. The youth will always find a way to make sure that their parents don’t like their music. To me, EDM, dance music and DJ culture is just following in this path that we’ve been in forever.’
Live is where he comes into his own as a no nonsense UK rocker who has a better feel for harmolodics then you might imagine, everything here is about arranging a sound where nothing sticks out and nothing goes under, just like Be Here Now taught us, it is like a mountain that is all peak.

Liam will always be missed but not half as much as Liam misses Noel
If Saturday was all about leaving early, Sunday is all about arriving late/. The show doesn’t start proper till Sturgill Simpson at 3pm, and, if you wanna be difficult, skip him and arrive really late for A-TRAK, but once you reach there is a whole lotta tough choices. War On Drugs or weird Al? Noel Gallagher is a gimme, but Hot Chip or Flying Lotus or Lana Del Rey or the Black Keys?
I don’t know if they will ever make up,’ continued McCartney. ‘It would be good because I think everyone likes brothers to like each other — and make up. It’s a pity because they are very good together. Like many brothers, they are crazy. But it would be nice if they got together.”
Letterman is still making the Late Night world roll over and play dead. The Prez leading the pack, with Tina Fey in the middle, and Mumford And Sons and the Dave Matthews Band bringing up the rear, it is all just another reason to tear your eyes away from Fallon for the last two weeks of history. Meanwhile, though, following Blur (and puppy races) this week, look for Noel Gallagher next week. I wonder if Noel will play a gig?
The playing is consistently excellent and the sound, the arrangements, the guitars plus touches, make for an unceasingly pleasant ambient track: the songs and the singing aren’t there, but the music is a pleasure. Hey, they will buy it in the UK and he is always welcome to sell out the Beacon
“If somebody puts that on the table, I’ll pack my bags in the morning and say, “How many gigs do you want?”. The thing that slightly annoys me is – and I know I’m the only one doing interviews – people assume it’s up to me. Let’s say I get up tomorrow morning, have a stretch, and say to my wife, “How about this Oasis thing?” It’s not up to me”
“I don’t think I can live in a world where that’s even possible. When you hear that kind of polished pop and then there’s a ginger guy with a fucking guitar it seems subversive, but it’s fucking not.”
I tried to get him to play on the last album but it never happened. So when I put this track together and knew he would be perfect for it I called him and asked if I could send him the rough mix. He said: ‘No, I don’t want to hear it. I’m just going to react to it on the day.’
“In The Heat Of The Moment”, sounds pretty damn good to me lots of guitars and hooks on hooks, the way we like it right, though I do miss Liam’s singing and for another, last time round he did a ton of oasis songs so I’m hoping to get that as well. Grade: B+
She is fourteen and she has just landed a gig at BBC TV’s “Entertainment” program ion the children’s BBC Network. And I guess her childhood, which would have included her dad’s divorce from her Mom and her Uncle, wasn’t exactly all that. Very insecure stuff. And then appearing on a TV show? Not certain I’d enjoy that…
I never miss reading a Gallagher interview, as the guy’s brutal honesty is legendary and has apparently no limits. The interviewer basically asked him about every successful music of this year, and the results are unequal but quite interesting.
