Based on the simplest of romantic declarations, him to her about her, “Never change”, him to her about him, “I can change” and a falsetto which caresses the music just out of reach, the song has a simple romatic yearn and a deep seated loss.it is like James is stretching his hand to her, and also, like it is too late. The longing can’t save it, the pleas feel as though they are falling on deaf ears.
Nas Is Like… Nas – 1999, this was one of my fave tracks, the verse is all spit strong rap and choppy beat but the chorus is half a man and half amazing and my question is why does it sound so much like… A
Dave Alvin of the Blasters original covered by Marshall on the sublime Live… My Truck Is My Home, the original is a rough and tumble rockabilly rave up you can just imagine the Blasters charging through. But Crenshaw… man, that guy finds the heart in everything .
Built On Glass – Chet Faker – Aussie trip hop mood guy and very very good as well. This album works as sonic sound ambient deep beats thing and works as song, song after song. I bet it sounds awesome with beats: it’s like the percussion reverberates in the back of your head while the songs settle in the front – ALBUM OF THE WEEK – B+
