Nightmare Seeker (The Little Red House) – Lamb Of God – This close the album just about exactly where it begun except you are there, love the drums, they have a 50s rock and roll, roll em up to them, and the rest of the song sounds a whole lot like the first one… though that goes without saying, right? – B
Overlord – Lamb Of God – Three years after their last release, Randy on the bombs sound more like Soundgarden than anything human, and while the plod of the hard rock first three minutes is new territory it is only new for them, the final three minutes is business as usual but the riff remains the same and it isn’t one of their best – C
From what I get, this sounds like a sort of live aid for metal-hardcore veterans without the aid, and of course the songs were recorded at Grohl’s studio 606 in the Los Angeles valley, on the famous Sound City mixing board, according to Kerrang
I can’t wait to watch the movie which screened last night at Highline Ballroom. It is a documentary about their 2012 tour and it all ends up in the Czech Republic, in court, with Randy Blythe staring down a murder charge… this live song is great by the groove metal band – A
The return of Bowling Green’s greatest exports an addictive indie pop slice of heaven, starting with California washed away in waves and ending in a built to singalong “Do it? I think I would, know it? Won’t but I think I should”. This is a really good song – A
Country boy Dierk is good where nearly everybody else isn’t because he has a great voice for this but also because he plays country rock with backbone and intricate clicked in arrangement, maybe because he isn’t a boy any more If he was better lyrically he’d be blowing Brad Paisley away, just the way he did when he opened for Brad at MSG – ALBUM OF THE WEEK – B+
