What a difference seeing an entertainer like JT up close and personal! His dance moves, his expressions, I can see everything and the music … I can feel everything. It’s as though the bass and percussion are my life support, if left without the music my heart would stop beating.

Hayley Williams who, watching it start to slip away three years ago, stopped and regrouped. Headlining Hammerstein (and not for the first time by any stretch), gone is self-puffery and Gwen Stefan self-delusion.
If I was a fan I would have been very impressed with this fine set, culling songs off their adored self-named debut and last years Coexist with precision, passion, intelligence and intensity. But they’re a drag. They need the “Y” chromosome in there somewhere. They are like the Kills with their balls chopped off.
I am happy Cat has her life back in shape, I am happy she has a cracker band playing quasi ambient blues and indie workouts and a good one, and Alyson met Cat at a CD signing and wrote her how nice Cat is. So I am happy about that. But even if she was Matahma Ghandi, this would be have been a drear, dark and boring set.
The staging and lighting were excellent and John’s voice sounded the same and he gave up some angry yob stick by telling the securing guards to fuck off. His songs and the band were ok; but I think its time to put this chapter of punk behind us or at least until we get some fresh blood.
He was 100% on, bopping up and down, arms to the heaven, dancing to the powerful deep bass beats, and triggering his disco charges as he lead a fine band. A terrific performance by the man who changed the face of modern music.
