I would be shocked if we don’t get a big dollop of Black 47’s back catalog, I mean Larry wrote em, why wouldn’t he play them? Which means that while, no, it isn’t the great Irish rockers, it is about as close as you are gonna get. So get there.
I forgot to buy a ticket for Saturday’s gig at BB King’s, the last show ever by the terrific Irish American then Irish again political Irish jig hard rocking band named after a famine. My loss, guys. I am sure we will be hearing more from all the members of the band… the sooner the better
You cannot in good measure critique a band on a farewell journey. They’re emotionally charged, tired and seemingly on auto pilot as they work their way tying up the loose strings of their time together. A band of brothers and an army of 6, Black47 have done what they wanted to do- raise awareness, raise a fist and raise a pint, with the convictions of superheroes.
I am so thrilled for them and so psyched to have seen these guys live, its just the coolest thing ever and if you cant stay awake – then set your damn DVR. Other than that, the week is crap.
