I missed Barry Gibb on Friday due to the weather and Lael Summer on Saturday due to the late start (1230am!). Luckily Helen Bach and Mary Magpie represented at Boston Strong. Excited for the Decemberists? Frank Turner? Brand New? Perhaps but how about TWO VEGAN TACOS FOR FIVE BUCKS!!!
With threat of rain for Friday evening, a threat I take seriously given Barry Gibb is playing the outdoor shed Jones Beach and I have intention whatsoever of sitting around getting soaked for hours on end, and therefore may miss a gig I’ve been zooming on for months now, it seemed like a good time to check out the set list
It could well be the last time for Barry Gibb as well so a package that finds Barry with a couple of second generation Bee Gees supporting him, has forced me out to the wilds of Long Island’s Jones Beach on Friday. Will it be worth? I’ll be shocked if the harmonies are anything great but attempting them is their birth right.
I countered with the Beethoven Defense. If Beethoven was playing, what would you say? “Man, that ‘Ninth Symphony’ was a coupla hundred years ago and he is old now, who wants to see him?”
The last of the Brothers Gibb or BeeGee’s as they were called is brushing his locks and hitting the road along with his son and niece, daughter of Maurice Gibb. I don’t know about this, first off it is rather funny to have a girl along but at least she can hit the high notes.
