Strummerville is a not for profit charity established by the friends and family of the late great Joe Strummer. The foundation "by offering support, resources and performance opportunities to artists who would not normally have access to them". Strummerville makes Global a Go Go a reality.
Its fitting tribute and a wonderful homage to a man who made the world a bit cooler just by being around. For $20. you can support this fantastic cause at New York's Bowery Electric on January 29th, and well- there arent many details available. Bands and acts are to be announced as they celebrate the life and music of Joe Strummer and The Clash. A worthy cause a worthy reason and a nice intimate venue to have it held.
rocknyc will be there supporting Strummerville in our home town. Generally their functions take place in the UK including a massive fest held in August at the anniversary of Joes birth. This isn't a bull organization, more than three quarters of every buck you toss in go directly to its programs. Not too shabby.
