10/17: The Most Unforgettable Night of Whatever
Ok, Steely Dan fans, now you know the thing about SD is they sound great but they aren’t the most exciting live band in the world and when you go to see em, as I have since their return in the 1990s, I always felt they were in it purely for the money. As live bands go, not their cup of mead.
I reviewed em (here) and this is what I wrote: “After they complete Royal Scam, the lead singer says “Lean back, relax, and we’ll take care of everything.” And that’s what happened, it is like Steely Dan are such craftsmen, such steely eyed pros, such superb players on such intricate music it’s like they are treading on your throat and you are struggling for breath.”
As for “The Most Unforgettable Night of Forever” -” while the October 17th finale features the theme “The Most Unforgettable Night of Whatever – Featuring Spectacular Musical Guests, Glorious Tunes and Riffage, and Whatever the Party Calls for! Parking Validated for First Dozen Diehard Fans.”
Should be fun-ish, at least and is currently on Amex presale. Only eight nights, maybe they will up it to 16 next year.
