Necrotizing fasciitis! It is probably the worst kind of disease I would like to contract, think about it, some bacteria slowing eating your flesh, your deep layers of skin and tissues, destroying your muscles by spreading toxins in your body and producing massive wounds. Don’t try to google pictures of it, or you may never sleep again!
Jeff Hanneman, guitarist for the thrash-metal band Slayer, has contracted flesh-eating bacteria and doctors are saying it may have been caused by a spider bite! A proof that even tough metal guys are not immunized against this kind of hardcore disease.
He is supposed to undergo surgery on his right arm soon, and is expected to make a full recovery after a few skin grafts; meanwhile, in a common agreement, the band has decided to replace him to fulfill their upcoming dates, and among others the ‘Metal Coachella’ with Metallica, Megadeth and Athrax at the Empire Polo Club in Indio next April.
