St. Jude – Florence + The Machine – Ever since seeing a lousy set at Radio City, Florence Welch sure felt like a lost cause but this full bloodied ballad feels like a return to form; a gorgeous, powerful song that should make its way up the charts with ease – A

Monterey – Milk Carton Kids – Hip American country folk blah blah blah, right? But not so fast, this is a truly beautiful Cali dream of a sky at night, a haunting, acoustic dream of a song – A-

Future People – Alabama Shakes – The third song off their upcoming album is absolutely the keeper , a finger picked intro leads you to a wailingly great vocal and an Arcade Fire (or is that Talking Heads) new wave soulfulness… a terrific song – A-

Dead Inside – Muse – Sure, it isn’t much but what it is does the job pretty darn well –electric guitars and a strong enough vocal – B

Your Good Fortune – Mavis Staple – A new track off her upcoming EP, hold out for her cover of “See That My Grave Is Kept Clean” – B-

Worship – Years & Years – These Limey synthpoppers haven’t hit but with a model for a lead singer, the US girls should follow their UK sister in getting em in the charts – C+

Can’t Deny My Love – Brandon Flowers – Wanna bet? This is where Brandon comes to a complete full stop… awful dance track, he is done – D+

Roll The Bass – Major Lazer – When did Diplo get to be such a drag? New year’s Eve? Before that? The Skrillex album? Fighting with Tay? Fighting with M.I.A. whatever, this is business as usual with a pinch of dub – C+
