untitled
Speedy Ortiz

Raising The Skate – Speedy Ortiz – This is a big release for the band, the first post breakthrough soud and it is an artful indie rock with a great intro and an ace riff which repeats from oe end to the other, taking center stage here and there – B+

Huarache Lights – Hot chips – This sounds like grown a grown up dance rocker, the vocals dodn’t much happen, reminds me of New Order, but the beat is sweet and poppier than the norm. Maybe the action will happen with the remix. The spoken word bridge is an original concept –it’s like art pop with a back beat – B

Don’t Wanna Fight – Alabama Shakes – Sounds like scratchy new r&b meets TVOTR – B-

Fool For Love – Lord Huron – This is very good Americana, a great tempo and a Bo Diddley rhythm – B+

Pay No Mind – Madeon, Passion Pit – Young DJ meets indie rocker, like house meets shoegaze but there is something so unappealing, it is like generic and besides the point – C+

Lips – Sisqo – Full blown ballad by a one hit wonder hip hop guy. Good luck to him, I say – B
