I was introduced to Scott Krokoff’s music from my cousin Glenn (who is old friend of Mr Krokoff). I took his suggestion and contacted Scott. I am very happy I did.
At first listen, I have to say that “A Better Life” this is one great debut CD. I can sense different adult music genres in his music. I say adult music, because you won’t hear his music on Top 40 hit stations that appeal to kids. This is a straight-forward adult contemporary album, with a bit of folk-country feel to it. He is great on the acoustic guitar.
Ok, so, I really love his music. Great to listen to. Mellow enough to listen at the office, plus great to just chill out at the park with this album playing through your earplugs or radio. My favorites so far are the title track, along with “I Know Your Story”, “Sparrows”, “Acid Rain” and “There’s A Woman”.
Put the music aside for a second and just listen to how Scott got to where he is now. He is a local Queens boy who grew up to become a tax lawyer. He always enjoyed playing music but really never pursed his American dream. Until one day, he decided to leave his position as a lawyer and put his talents to the test. He gave up everything for ‘A Better Life’. That is what I truly like about this guy. He didn’t want to live the rest of his life behind a desk (like the most of us). I wish I had that talent, but maybe I can become a mainstream music journalist. Haha.
Give this album a try. It goes by so fast, cause it is so good. Nothing boring.
Look for Scott Krokoff on Facebook or check out his website http://www.scottkrokoff.com/
I hope one day he plays a gig on Long Island so I can see first-hand Scott perform.
