The beginning of ‘Puzzle Pieces’, the new Saint Motel’s song, has some Brazilian carnival going on, I thought that piano line was about to burst into some David Byrne’s ‘Miss America’, but it progresses into more familiar typical Saint Motel’s concoction with bright chorus and an explosive pop-rock instrumentation.
Ha, but here comes that line again, it’s a party!
Saint Motel is a busy band with a lot of entertaining ideas, when they are not playing shows (they recently played the Rock & Roll Circus in New York) or doing their annual Zombie prom, the quartet is working on a new release that will follow their ‘ForPlay’ EP.
They will also be playing a few dates in Las Vegas on March 8th and 9th
and in Austin on March 16th, 18th, 19th (with Neon Trees, She Wants Revenge, Limousines) for SXSW 2011.
‘Puzzle Pieces’ was just released yesterday, and you can listen or even download it here:
