With nothing else to do on my lunchbreak, I mean I could take a break for lunch but other than that there is nothing worth doing, how about this: comparing Rolling Stone “star” ratings to what they are really worth.
Obviously, U2 is the big difference, but even so they overestimate country in an effort to appeal to the demo and underestimate indie because nobody cares enough to make a difference. Banks should be pissed and JTE should be furious.
But the real problem here isn’t that people of good faith disagree but that Rolling Stone have no good faith worth disagreeing about. Their taste is suspect not because they have bad ears (or not solely because they have bad ears) but because they are liars.
