rock nyc Called The Top Seven Acts At Z-100 Jingle Ball 2014!!

Jingle Ball All The Way

Jingle Ball All The Way

Yes folks, now the line up is official let’s see how close we came to calling Z100’s Jingle Ball, 2014, a show we have covered every year since 2009 and which I’ve attended since its inception, give or take a hangover! Needless to say, we got quite a bit right here back in on August 21st, 2014.

We claimed Taylor Swift would headline, Taylor swift will headline. We claimed Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande would be there and they will be there. I, myself, wrote: “5 Seconds of summer – A no brainer that one, there is no way on God’s green earth Summer doesn’t happen during Christmas..” And guess what? Summer will be happening during Christmas. We said Sam Smith will be there, Sam Smith will be there. We knew Onerepublic would be the token rock band and Onerepublic are the token pop band.

After that we fell a part but, still!!

Here is a list of the acts, which puts the meh 2013 (here)in the rearview mirror though doesn’t improve on 2012 (here) , does it? I think the addition of the spectacular now Meghan Trainor might just tip the scales in 2014’s favor: Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, Pharrell, 5 Seconds of Summer, Calvin Harris, OneRepublic, Jessie J, Meghan Trainor, Charli XCX, Shawn Mendes, Rita Ora, Kiesza and Rixton. Nick Jonas will be the host.

What did we miss? The big miss was Maroon 5, the other miss was the bringing  together all the biggest hitmakers of the summer: Iggy, Ariana, Jesse J and Charli XCX -though I am surprised they couldn’t swing Nicki Minaj, maybe she will show for “Bang Bang”. Congrats to Rixton in the surprise new boy band position. And I personally am thrilled beyond belief to catch up with the astounding pop songwriter and singer Meghan Trainor.
