I really love Robyn Hitchcock's voice. He has such a distinct and wonderful sound. A bit of a high and nasal pitch but distinct and comforting at the same time. He is one of the artists that I often forget about.
This is a flaw I wish to overcome. I have never heard a bad song by Hitchcock and on the contrary have hummed along for some time now. Robyn has never really left the scene but hey now, new material makes me very happy.
March 5th, 2013 we get a new dose of material 'Love From London" and what a great way to usher in the spring. Hitchcock describes his songs as "paintings you can listen to"
And has a pretty cool spin on his his new album claiming it "celebrates life in a culture imperiled by economic and environmental collapse," he says. "We are surfing on the momentum of chaos. If a consensus on global warming comes from the people, then the media, the politicians, and the corporations will have to adapt to it. Rock and Roll is an old man's game now, so I'm staying in it."
Good point considering some of the biggest tours of 2012 have been from bands with members in their 70's. Rock and roll is getting really old. The 'classic' rockers must have fantastic health insurance cuz they're not decomposing. Go figure.
In the meant time check out this amazingly fun casual video and go listen to 'The Man With The Lightbulb Head',- don't forget Robyn Hitchcock. Hes fantastic.
