Punk Goes Pop 5, My Guilty Pleasure Keeps Going

I have loved the "Punk Goes" series since day one.  It's just plain fun and Fearless puts together some amazing covers.  In our time doing interviews we discovered most bands have at least one pop tune on their iPod and aren't afraid to belt it out at whim.

Pop songs are pop cuz they're popular and sometime for the sheer cheesiness of the tune.  In the case of Silverstein's version of 'Runaway', it can live up to the original- but mostly its just plain karaoke fun.

First up the streaming of Memphis May Fires "Grenade", originally done by Bruno Mars.  They got the winning card with this tune. Its fantastic and fun and honestly I adore this band anyway so they do no wrong. The big draw will be Upon This Dawnings "Call Me Maybe", cuz its a great tune made better.

Who else?  Best lineup ever

Mayday Parade "Somebody That I Used To Love"
Forever The Sickest Kids "We Found Love"
We Came As Romans "I'm Glad You Came"
Like Moths To Flames "Some Nights
Breathe Carolina ' Billie Jean'

The only real dog is Craig  Owens "Paradise' and that's just because I have no respect for him.
