Project 143 Winter Auction In Action

Project 143 is a non profit organization that coordinates opportunities for young cancer patients to meet their musical idols.  Consider it a small Make A Wish Rock and roll style.

This year's items up for sale include signed drumheads, posters, C.D.s and more form artists including Pierce The Veil, We The Kings, The Maine, Thirty Seconds To Mars, All Time Low, Taking Back Sunday, Falling In Reverse, The Summer Set, D.R.U.G.S., New Found Glory, Mayday Parade, and Emarosa.

Pretty cool bands involved- this must be for the alt kids and thus a charity dear to me.  Not everyone wants to meet Adam Levine, on the contrary I would prefer to never have that opportunity.

I wont usually post an entire mission statement but I think this one is worth reading.  Read it al the way to the end- then tell me what were you doing at age 14?

Project 143 is dedicated to providing unique music-related experiences for teenagers and young adults who are battling cancer. Over 10,000 will be diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. this year. Since 2007, Project 143 has brought inspiration and happiness to these young people through the power of music.

We connect patients and survivors to their favorite bands. We arrange for autographed merchandise, concert tickets and even the opportunity to meet the artists. Our efforts have led us to work with hundreds of bands such as All Time Low, Reel Big Fish, Green Day, Set Your Goals and We The Kings. But whether the interest is alternative, pop, country or classical, we work hard to put patients in touch with those who inspire them.

The Project 143 Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charity, founded by Jared Stossel when he was 14 years old.
